Glass Evil Eye Chilli Charm Balagan Glass Hoop Earrings

Our hand crafted bright and colourful glass evil eye chilli charm balagan glass hoop earrings feature plated brass teardrop shaped hoop wire earrings decorated with a random multicolour mix of 4mm opaque plain and stripe glass rocaille beads along the length of the earring wires, with drop lampwork glass chilli charms in the centre of the wire hoops, decorated with evil eyes on both sides, available in a variety of colours. These earrings secure with decorative plated brass lever back earrings for pierced ears.

The chilli charm is similar to the ‘Cornicello’ horn charm and is a traditional good luck charm believed to protect its bearer from the envy and harmful intent of others, while also attracting good fortune to its owners. It is similar to the evil eye charm, so this chilli charm that adorns our earrings combines both for extra protection! Garlands of red chili peppers can be found hanging all over the streets of Sicily, as a symbol of good luck. During the Middle Ages, the colour red had a double meaning: it symbolized victory over enemies including the devil, and it symbolized good luck. Today in Sicily, it is recognized as a symbol of good luck and protection.
